How not to get lost

By Car: Maple House is located on Gypsy Castle Lane, just down from the Swan Hotel and St Mary’s church ( near the town end of the lane not the housing estate end of the lane).

The best way to find us is to locate us on a map. If you put Maple House into Google Maps (HR3 5EG) it does direct you to Gypsy Castle Lane but to an incorrect side street. (See red cross on map, see green tick on map for correct location).

You will see the slate sign Maple House on the brick wall next to the gate and the parking spaces are located at the rear of the property. 

SAT NAV Warning!
If approaching Hay from the West/Welsh side of the border on the B4350 from Glasbury, Sat Nav will then try to send you left, down a very narrow part of Gypsy Castle Lane, ignore that and take the next left just as you go past the Welcome to Hay sign. The road is named The Meadows, which then leads you directly into Gypsy Castle Lane (but missing out the very narrow bit). Maple House is then located behind a high hedge on the left at the far end on Gypsy Castle Lane. If you come to  St Marys Church on the left, you have just gone past us! 

If approaching Hay from the East/English/Hereford side of the border on the A438 from Hereford, you will come though Hay town centre, then take a right just in front of the Swan hotel. Follow the road down, where you will pass St Mary’s church on the right, and Maple House is the second small private road on the right past the church.

By Train: The nearest train station is Hereford which is approximately 40 mins away by taxi. We can let you have some taxi numbers if arriving by train, but we would highly recommend pre-booking your taxi as there are limited taxi companies operating in this area.

Please note: Despite the Hereford postcode, Maple House and most of Hay on Wye is in Wales so Welsh Covid rules apply!
